Text message fail

At Virginia Tech, no less.

Why is this even considered a remote substitute for letting the few students who are willing protect their own lives? And again, spare me the "duck and cover" scenario, or the one where "EVERYONE WILL BE SHOOTING AT EVERYONE!" It's all a bunch of nonsense.

The text message system is supposed to represent the most advanced and logical solution that school officials can come up with for a solution to a problem that can be solved by just staying the hell out of the way.

Update: It seems that I found the condensed version of the story. Head on over to David's post for some more info.
