Preaching to the choir, of course, but all registration does is tell you where the legally owned guns are. Doesn't do a damn thing about the illegally owned ones, which are the problem, if public safety is the goal. I'm not sure that it is.
I'm pretty sure that it isn't. It's only about control; and all the excuses and arguements that gun grabbers cough up are just CYA until they get their way.
