A digital message will tell you you're being shot at

Virginia Tech just shelled out big bucks for message boards that will alert you if there is a spree shooter on campus, as if gunshots don't give it away already.

That's right folks - message boards.
Officials said the school has installed 201 devices total, and purchased 19 backup message boards at a total cost of $243,700.

I know what I would want if a shooting was going down, and it wouldn't cost the school a dime.
