In case three yahoos run in, pistol whip the patrons, and rob everyone.
Maybe there should be, like, a law or something that says you can't carry your gun in a bar. Common sense, right? That would have stopped these three brazen crooks cold at the door!

Indeed. That's my policy as well. The thing that really bothers me is that regular old restaurants lie Applebees are included as 'bars' in VA.
and in such places the logical and common-sense rule of "don't ask, don't tell" comes into play (but that's just me, i don't necessarily advocate that to others). jtc
