But police and city officials say the workplace must be a "fixed location," making it illegal for taxicab drivers to carry weapons.How about some common sense legislation to give cabbies their rights back?

DC cabbies want guns
This is a month old, and I don't know how I missed it, but cab drivers in DC want to carry guns for protection:

New York cabbies are exposed to violent situations everyday. They should be "required" to carry guns, forget about "should"!
