Defending their homes from the Taliban in Pakistan.
Pictures are worth a thousand words.
I notice that even Pakistani youth are packing AKs. And I can't help but smile seeing a pistol that was built in the 19th century, with every square inch of bluing worn off, still being used to fend off the bad guys.
Good stuff!

It's interesting that in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as many other countries, civilians carry full auto weapons without mishap on a day to day basis.
LOL yeah ... our northwest province makes amazing copies of any weapon they can get their hand on!
but the tokarev tula and kalashinokov remain favorties! they're manufactured by the thoudsands and sold all over!
and the 19th century pistol is most likely a copy too (for reference, a fully functional, reliable AK costs approx 300$! beat that!)
Afghanis make AKs in caves with rocks and hand tools.
Maybe someone should pass a law?
