dange...how far are buckshot pellets dangerous for?

dangerous as in lethal, i would have to agree. just based on weight of a 00 buck pellet vs rifle round weight without any propellant behind it. if i can hit a 2x2 piece of steel at 600 yards with a 6mm, i can imagine a 00 buck pellet COULD travel just as far, maybe not impact with the same force but i'm almost sure it could penetrate skin. i mean sure it's not probable but it is possible.Drewnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1540162652707616108.post-16288546878621927202012-01-11T08:34:33.425-05:002012-01-11T08:34:33.425-05:00I did the same thing as Tom Gresham and came to th...I did the same thing as Tom Gresham and came to the exact same conclusion - http://fateoflegions.blogspot.com/2011/02/home-defense-guns.html

In the noted discussion, I believe that buckshot is still very lethal between 300 and 500 yards, maybe more. What it turned into was which round is safer to use if you did happen to hit somebody, a rifle bullet or buckshot pellet. I can't subscribe to that logic to begin with because I don't shoot if there's any potential whatsoever to hit anyone or anything I'm not supposed to, regardless of the speed or size of the projectile, but unfortunately the arguement is one I've heard before, so I'm going to test it.

Twist my arm to shoot stuff in the name of science!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02544360303504618447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1540162652707616108.post-30432112885036189082012-01-10T23:01:01.828-05:002012-01-10T23:01:01.828-05:00You should consult Tom Gresham on this. He once compared the penetration of buckshot vs. .223 against dry wall and found that buckshot will penetrate far more layers of drywall than will a .223 bullet.Broken Andyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01562569871940946226noreply@blogger.com
