For the 10mm lovers

Wilson Combat has 10mm ammo that's not the watered down stuff that you see in Gander Mountain. Three different weights available: 140 grain, 155 grain, and 180 grain ammo.

I don't have a 10mm any more -- something I intend to remedy in the future -- but if I did I would be trying this ammo for self defense.

  1. So, what is the fascination with 10mm? Is it part of being a recoil junky? That I understand, but I would think a .44mag would provide a better fix. For self defense, I don't get it. I carry a .40 and have basically come to the conclusion after doing IDPA that perhaps that is a mistake and that I should back down to a 9mm.

  2. There's nothing at all wrong with 9mm; it's my preference for SD. I like 10mm because it's a good round for both SD and critter control. Some 200+ grain hard cast rounds at 1,200 fps would do well on black bears and such; not that I anticipate taking on a bear. The Glock20 is surprisingly soft shooting for that round, and with 160 or 180 grain loads at 1,400 or 1,500 fps you don't have any problems with bullets not expanding.
